DENIOS connect for lithium-ion cabinets
Defective lithium-ion batteries are often difficult to identify as such and pose a high safety risk. If a defective lithium-ion battery is charged or stored for a long period of time, there is a high risk of fire. Since charging often takes place unattended outside working hours, the risk of damage spreading is particularly high.
Networking with the DENIOS connect platform allows you to easily monitor the safety and operating status of lithium-ion cabinets around the clock. DENIOS connect thus actively supports you in fulfilling your operator obligations.
Advantages of DENIOS connect for lithium-ion cabinets
Online safety concept
The tried-and-tested 3-stage warning and fire suppression system is now online in DENIOS connect.
24/7 monitoring
Charging or storing lithium batteries under continuous monitoring.
System error detection
Reliable monitoring of sensor and electronic faults.
Operational monitoring
Reliable monitoring of relevant operating parameters and maintenance status.
Fulfilment of duties
Supervisory duty when charging lithium batteries is fulfilled.
Great ease of use
The cabinets are equipped with NB-IoT during manufacturing and can be activated by the user with a single click of a button.
Safety warning for lithium-ion fires
Condition monitoring allows you to monitor your lithium-ion battery storage and charging cabinets around the clock. If a fire breaks out due to electrically overloaded or mechanically damaged lithium-ion batteries, an alarm is automatically transmitted in real time, by email or SMS – wherever you are.
With the integrated 3-stage warning and fire suppression system, the SmartStore connect and SafeStore connect cabinets offer a high level of safety when storing and charging lithium-ion batteries. Employees can be evacuated immediately, fire suppression triggered and further countermeasures initiated. In particular, charging processes are never left unattended. Further information on the safe handling of lithium batteries, your duties of care when charging and measures for damage prevention can be found in the DENIOS magazine.
Lithium-ion batteries are stored and charged in the SmartStore.
A battery is mechanically damaged – the temperature inside the battery rises.
An exothermic reaction takes place.
A chain reaction with a significant release of energy begins.
Removal is virtually impossible, and the batteries and SmartStore are destroyed.
Three-stage security concept now monitored 24/7 and online
The tried-and-tested lithium-ion cabinets from the SmartStore connect and SafeStore connect series by DENIOS are already secured by dual-sided fire protection and a three-stage safety concept (alarm and fire suppression). These measures give emergency services at least 90 minutes to take emergency measures. With DENIOS connect, the status of the three-stage alarm is displayed in the web application in addition to the monitoring of other operating and system parameters – visible to the operator at any time and from any location.
The proven lithium-ion cabinets from the SmartStore connect and SafeStore connect series from DENIOS can now be monitored 24/7 with DENIOS connect. It not only alerts on site, but also forwards notifications by email or SMS.
The 3-stage warning and fire suppression system for lithium-ion cabinets
Networked sensor technology for greater safety
DENIOS connect is optimally tailored to DENIOS lithium-ion cabinets. State-of-the-art sensor technology records and processes current safety and operating parameters. If there is a rise in temperature, smoke or fire, an alarm is automatically transmitted in real time via narrowband IoT. This is reported to you by email or text message, wherever you are. All sensor data and information can be viewed centrally at any time via a web application and can be freely configured.
Temperature monitoring
Temperature monitoring includes warning levels at 50 °C and alarms for smoke development and temperatures above 70 °C. In addition, the interior temperature is continuously monitored to detect heat build-up due to heat accumulation at an early stage. In addition, the function of the ventilation system, which serves to extract accumulated heat, is monitored. Other operating parameters such as operating hours, signal strength at the installation site and the operational readiness of the ventilation system and the plug strips of the charging cabinets are also continuously monitored by the system.
Maintenance reminder
A maintenance reminder is issued after 7920 operating hours. During maintenance, warnings and alarms are triggered to check functionality. These messages are indicated by a separate status. The annual maintenance of the cabinet also includes the annual usage fee for condition monitoring and alarms, access to the DENIOS connect Cloud and data transfer for the coming year.
Monitoring internal system errors in the cabinet electronics
Defects in sensors or the cabinet electronics are relevant for the proper operation of the cabinet. Therefore, system malfunctions are not only displayed locally on the cabinet itself, but also transmitted to DENIOS connect and forwarded from there to the stored recipient to ensure a prompt response.
On-site alarm: Regardless of the cloud-based DENIOS connect web application, which enables round-the-clock condition monitoring of your safety cabinet, you will also be notified via display elements on your safety cabinet on site as soon as a fault occurs. This ensures that you are comprehensively warned. An on-site alarm function can be implemented visually via warning lights and/or acoustically via sirens.
