Battery test laboratory at Phoenix testlab
Electro-mobility is a trend - and with it the delicate question of the best battery. This must withstand adverse environmental conditions on the road, extreme temperature fluctuations, moisture and salt, vibrations and shock endure and may not be disturbed EMC side or even become the disturber. These features are being studied by Phoenix Testlab in the Battery Test Laboratory.

Phoenix Testlab sees itself as a technical service company that supports its customers from the development to the market launch of a product. The service includes not only the technical testing of products but also the international management of licensing and approval procedures.
The challenge and task
At the headquarters in Blomberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, the company needed for the testing of lithium-ion batteries and modules, which u.a. in the field of electromobility and solar technology, a new battery test laboratory. Security aspects for employees, the test environment and the examinee played a central role..
The following tests should be performed:
Temperature and climatic change tests
Vibration and shock tests
Corrosion and harmful gas tests
Testing the electromagnetic compatibility
Cyclisation of the batteries
On the basis of its technical / safety rooms, DENIOS developed a system for supervised intermediate storage of the batteries in close cooperation with the customer. F90 fire protection systems with DIBt approval are used.
These systems are against the background of the hazard characteristics of Li-Io batteries with corresponding safety devices, such as e.g. Air conditioner, technical ventilation and pressure relief surface equipped.

With this tried-and-tested solution, Phoenix Testlab was able to design the entire process chain effectively and at the same time realize maximum safety for its employees.
