Manufacturing companies can hardly be imagined without them in the landscape. Intermediate Bulk Container or IBC for short. When it comes to the transport of liquid and pourable substances, IBCs have long been established as the industry standard. In most cases, the IBC is made of plastic, stands on a pallet and is surrounded by a metal tube frame. This offers additional protection for the stored goods. The usual capacities are 500 to 3,000 liters, but the most common is the variant with a volume of 1,000 liters. Due to the cubic shape, the storage space can be used more economically than is the case with barrels.
When transporting dangerous goods, their packaging, including IBCs, must be safe enough to withstand the stresses of normal transport conditions. Thanks to their stable construction, IBCs are ideal for use in the transport of dangerous goods. They are suitable for liquid goods of packaging groups II and III, for flammable liquids in accordance with the Industrial Safety Ordinance and as collection and removal containers.
DENIOS offers various IBCs that are tailored to various requirements. The IBCs are available in the following versions:
Made of plastic or stainless steel
From 600 to 1000 liters
Two different outlet openings
Three different filling openings
With PE / wood pallet or steel runners
EX versions
In transparent or black with UV protection
Fruit juices, oils, fats, flavors or additives: IBCs are also used in the food sector. The highest hygiene standards apply in this area. The containers are then mainly made of stainless steel. In the food sector, the contents of storage containers are changed, exchanged or reloaded in terms of production technology particularly frequently. Due to their design and material, IBCs are particularly suitable for these tasks. Even if the maintenance effort is not low, stainless steel can be cleaned with almost no residue. For this reason, IBCs in the food sector are mostly made of stainless steel.
Regardless of the material, it is often necessary, especially with food, to keep additives, oils or fats at a constant temperature level. Production processes are not infrequently dependent on this. DENIOS Thermotechnik offers the right solutions for this, both on a small and large scale.
A wide range of tools and professional accessories support you in your daily work with IBCs. IBC openers, funnels or pumps make daily tasks easier. If the IBC content has to be mixed and conveyed regularly, for example in the case of emulsions or suspensions, mixers and agitators are used. These are fixed directly in the opening of the IBC and, depending on the model, combine agitator and IBC pump. It should also be noted that the agitators should be tailored to the medium, i.e. the content of the intermediate bulk container, in order to achieve optimal work results. Ex versions are also available. This means that nothing stands in the way of use in sensitive work areas.
