Stationary Filling Stations

(13 Article)

At all work locations where there is no petrol station nearby, stationary tank systems are regularly used for the storage of vehicle and machinery fuels, such as diesel, petrol or heating oil. A wide range of volumes from 210 to 10,000 litres are available. Accessories such as pumps, hoses, nozzles and counters are also offered. Refuelling platforms complete our range.

Expertise on stationary tank systems

Stationary tank systems from DENIOS

What are the advantages of a stationary tank system?

If you are installing your own tank system, you have a choice between stationary and mobile systems. Click here to find our mobile tank systems. Stationary tank systems are less mobile, but can hold volumes between 400 and 10,000 litres. If fuel is bought at a favourable time, the purchase usually pays for itself after a short period. A stationary fuel storage tank is one of the so-called "low-consumption, own-consumption filling stations". They are defined as filling stations with a low storage volume and annual throughput, which are intended exclusively for the refuelling of company-owned motor vehicles and are not accessible to the public.

The exact regulations on the permissible storage volume depend on the country. Like the mobile tank systems, fuel storage tanks for stationary use from DENIOS also fulfil the conditions for the international storage of dangerous goods in accordance with the European Treaty (ADR). Stationary fuel storage tanks for diesel, heating oil or petrol ensure environmental safety thanks to the double-walled design with leak indication system, and are equipped with aeration and vent lines.

What do I have to consider when installing a stationary fuel storage tank?

When installing up a stationary fuel storage tank, the size of the filling area must also be taken into account. Within this area, it must be possible to detect and retain leaked fuel reliably. The radius around the tank is considered as the length of the hose including the nozzle, plus one metre. The filling area must be impermeable to liquids and withstand all stresses caused by motor vehicles and machinery, as well as weather. Leaked fuel must be taken up and disposed of immediately, for example with Oil absorbent materials. It is also important that precipitation water contaminated with fuel is not allowed to penetrate from the filling area into the ground or nearby water. This must be disposed of separately. Covering the filling area can prevent this from happening in the first place. Furthermore, a tank installation must be protected from damage with Impact protection systems.
